Alright, so I really need help on how to hook up some sound equipment, it's turning out to be a lot more complicated than I thought. What I'm trying to do is hook up two microphones to my guitar amplifier and/or PC to record/amplify an acoustic guitar + vocals. My amp only seems to have one input. I bought a Shure SM57 (with XLR connector) and when I plug it directly into the amp, there is no way for me to get any sound of it. And if I can, it's extremely extremely quiet.
So my guess is that I need to buy a preamp. Right.
So that's what I'm looking into. As far as I can tell, it will allow me to connect 2 XLR microphones and adjust their output. It also works as a preamp, so it should be fine...right? Then if i plug the output of the mixer into the amp, I'm hoping that it will work. Do I need anything else?
I read something about a high/low impendance transformer. What is that? Will I need it?
I hope someone can help me, this stuff is really confusing to me.
Any help appreciated.
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
